Lone Star Trouble by Autumn Piper

Blurb:

One hot cowboy plus one tough rancher-girl adds up to trouble!

Kiersten Day holds a grudge against all things Texan, especially cattle baron CJ Howell, with his hubcap-sized belt buckle and tacky white hat. He’s set his sights on her tiny Colorado ranch, and he’s a master of dirty tactics, slinging threats to make her sell out.

Caught in the fight of her life, Kiersten meets Cleve, a tall, handsome good guy. Too late, she finds out he’s Howell’s son. She might be pregnant, she doesn’t know who to trust, and danger is closing in. She’s head over heels -- and kicking herself!

Content warning, a hot cowboy, dirty tactics and lots of lone star trouble.

Review:

Cleve Howell is a hero just the way I like them. Handsome as sin, with a will of iron and a heart of gold. He’s determined to distinguish himself from his father, not only in business practices, but in living his life. Unlike his father, he doesn’t believe in using underhanded tactics to get what he wants. In the process, he gets much more than he bargained for when he meets his father’s nemesis, Kiersten Day.

I found myself rooting for Kiersten Day from page one. She’s a strong, yet resilient woman, determined to hold on to her family’s legacy no matter what, or who, tries to destroy it. She holds no love in her heart for anything Texan, and with good reason. At least until she meets the man she believes works for her sworn enemy, CJ Howell.

Ms. Piper has crafted a highly entertaining story which was a pure joy to read. Her characterizations are so vivid they pull you right into the story. She skillfully weaves just the right amount of comedy to keep you laughing, with enough well thought out suspense to keep you turning pages. While at the same time, spicing things up with red-hot sexual tension and heart stopping romance. In fact, this book was so good, I couldn’t put it down.

I give this story five hearts and a recommended read. Reviewed by
